Your True Name is a musical project from the singer/songwriter Julie Brammer. She released her first album named "A Velvet Robe Testimony" in 2023. The album is a work of 7 songs, and was released independently.

The music is drawing inspiration from traditions of folk, country, rock, jazz, soul and pop, with a very analogue sound to it. You won't find something 'overproduced', smeared with autotune, here. Perhaps, it's honest and authentic, raw even, even though such terms has become almost over used in these times, where everything needs to be 'authentic' and 'relatable' (...).

Your True Name delivers little universes with an intimate yet powerful feel to her voice. It feels like she's got something to tell you. And she does.

Themes evolving around life lessons are explored. Your True Name is interested in telling stories, making something poetic and narrative, with music that grooves. Oscillating sonic cuddles between feel good and melancholy.
