Your True Name
BIO
Your True Name is an independent danish artist, anchored in the singer/ songwriter tradition, from where she explores genres of pop, jazz and roots through collaborations with fellow core musicians. The lyrical themes revolves around connection and transformation, explored through reflections on life, relationships and society. This is story telling in a playful, reflective tone, with a subtle power.
Influences may vary from Joni Mitchel and Rickie Lee Jones to Hiatus Kaiyote, Tori Amos over Melody Gardot. Might sound like: Norah Jones versus Feist, but with that Sarah Vaughn and Amy Winehouse crush, in a do it yourself manner.
She starts from where she is, and works with what she has.
You can listen to Your True Name’s debut album "A Velvet Robe Testimony" on You Tube, right here.
